KATIE STJERNHOLM
DIRECTOR // WRITER // PRODUCER
Katie is a native Coloradan who is determined to use digital media and storytelling to make a positive dent in the world. Based in Boulder, Colorado, Katie is a co-founder and director at Balcony Nine Media.
An avid traveler, Katie previously worked as a producer and strategist at the global travel brand Lonely Planet in San Francisco and Melbourne. She first moved to Australia to attend graduate school at the University of Melbourne (M.A.) through an international fellowship as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. She had a brief stint in the feature film world, working in marketing and distribution for screenwriter-director Randall Wallace in Los Angeles. Katie received her B.A. from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
Edges is Katie's first short documentary. She has a soft spot for capturing the stories and wisdom of endearing folks three times her age. Katie hopes to still be road biking, traveling – or at least telling stories – at the age of 90.
JONATHAN HILLER

Jonathan has too many interests, which explains his many detours -- a researcher in a neuroscience lab, a substance abuse counselor, and an operations manager at a startup -- before stumbling into filmmaking, which he found to be the only way to fully integrate his passions for art, technology, and storytelling.
A few years after directing his first local broadcast commercial, Jonathan was recruited to serve as a filmmaker for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign -- serving as the director of photography on national broadcast ads and creating digital shorts to personify policy positions. Jonathan's work has been featured in places such as The New York Times, TIME, and the Discovery Channel. His favorite work consists of crafting cinematic and empathic stories of extraordinary (or quite ordinary) humans.
He is a director and DP in Boulder at Balcony Nine Media in Boulder, Colorado.
